Jane the Virgin is created by Jenny Snyder Urman. It is an American romantic comedy-drama and satirical telenovela that premiered on October 13, 2014, on The CW. The series ended on July 31, 2019. It is an adaptation of the telenovela Juana La Virgen by Perla Farias. Gina Rodriguez stars Jane Gloriana Villanueva, a 23-year-old Latina virgin who becomes pregnant after accidental insemination by a gynecologist. It parodies familiar tropes and machines in the telenovelas of Latin America. Jane the Virgin acquired critical acclaim, especially for its writing and Rodriguez's interpretation. Jane the Virgin was nominated for the Best Television Series- Musical or Comedy at the 72nd Golden Globe Awards, and Gina Rodriguez was nominated for Best Actress. In 2014, the series received a Peabody Award and was named one of the 10 Best Television Programs of 2014 by the American Film Institute. The series on-screen title card was revised with the fourth episode of season three, with "The Virgin" crossing over to replace the comedy that followed each episode. Brett Dier as Michael Cordero

Brett Dyer or Michael Cordero on Jane the Virgin was one of the best love triangles in TV history and the subject of the show's craziest plot twists. Dyer's career since the end of Jane the Virgin is worth noting: Dyer most recently starred in the hit thriller horror film Fresh on Hulu. The film stars Sebastian Stan and Daisy Edgar Jones. Crazy Jane the Virgin career aside, the actor knew he wanted to follow an acting profession from a very young age and earned nominations for his recurring cameo role on the Canadian series Bomb Girls.
Justin Baldoni as Rafael Solano

Raphael is one of the most delightful characters in Jane the Virgin. Justin Baldoni, who played Raphael throughout the show, has been active since the end of Jane the Virgin but hasn't mainly acted behind the camera. He is the director and producer of the romantic drama Five Feet Apart and the Disney+ original musical drama Clouds. He'll continue that trend over the next couple of years, including directing a movie called Hold Back the Stars and producing Smile or Hug, in which Andrea Navedo will have a role, as previously mentioned. While it's a shame we won't be able to see him as an actor anytime soon, it's exciting to see him create some fantastic projects and move on to a new part of his career.
Bridget Regan as Rose Solano

In original telenovela form, Rose Solano, Luisa Alvaro's stepmother and lover was the big lousy Sin Rostro. Rose married Emilio Solano for the resources to keep her drug business running smoothly. But little did she know that the woman she met that night at the hotel bar would become her stepmother. Anyone else would have guessed that they would rekindle their little relationship, and Rose would be forever bound to the family in a way she never expected.

Sure Rose Solano is a little reckless, but Bridget Regan is a far cry from her character on the series - apart from looks, that is. Kahlan starred in her first significant role as Amnel in Legend of the Seeker, an adaptation of Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth books. Regan is best known for The Last Ship, Agent Carter, and most recently as the original Poison Ivy in Batwoman. The actress is now committed to various shows.
Yara Martinez as Luisa Alver

The series's star, the reason why Jane Villanueva was accidentally inseminated, gives viewers the story's plot. A recovering alcoholic gets her life, and everyone else's life is turned upside down. Things never seem to go her way - her wife cheats on her, and her boyfriend turns out to be a drug lord.

Yael Grobglas as Petra Solano

Rafael's scheming, bright and resourceful ex-wife has had her fair share of problems throughout the years - whether it's because she feels guilty about how her mother has turned out. Petra tried to keep Rafael from divorcing her for a long time but eventually moved on and found love again with Jane Ramos.
Unlike the series, Yael Grobglas does not have a twin sister - although it may seem that way, Jane the Virgin has worked on several projects during the six years it aired - Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jerusalem, and Supergirl. A few. Most recently, Grobglass starred in The Selection and the Amazon Prime series Undone.
Jaime Camil as Rogelio De La Vega

Rogelio de la Vega is a narcissist, but when it comes to the people he loves, he'll do anything for them. It is surprising when he Finds out about the existence of his adult daughter, and he eventually finds his place in the Villanueva household.

Jaime Camille is far from the telenovela star he portrays in the series. The Mexican singer, actor, and TV personality has starred in many productions - winning numerous awards and nominations. After Jane the Virgin ended, Camille starred in Bojack Horseman, Brock, Schmigadoon!, and most recently Kimmy.
Andrea Navedo as Xiomara "Xo" Villanueva

Although she became pregnant at a very young age and is considered irresponsible by her daughter and mother, Xo is portrayed as a kind and loving mother throughout the series - often making sacrifices for her family. As viewers watch her pursue her dreams of becoming a singer, it becomes clear that she is strong and talented.
Her character is true - Andrea Navedo is as hardworking as the series. She has starred in many projects since Jane the Virgin and after the series ended. Most notably, Navedo can be seen in Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, The Good Fight and Mrs. America, Leverage: Redemption, and A Million Little Things.
